Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun is among the first four constituent colleges of Uttarakhand Technical University which were established in September 2012 with the approval of the State Government and AICTE. It is the first Women-Only engineering institute in the state of Uttarakhand. The Government Order vide 1193/XLI-1/2011-56/10, dated 15.11.2011 constituted the framework of the college. Thereafter, W.I.T. started functioning w.e.f. September 1st, 2012 at the Dehradun campus.
